Job Description: As a General Assistant at Cashbuild, your main role is to ensure comprehensive customer service within the store. Responsibilities include loading and merchandising stock, shelf price labeling, and maintaining housekeeping standards in designated areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Acknowledge customers and determine their needs.
- Provide correct advice on products and assist with queries.
- Handle customer complaints promptly.
- Promote add-on sales.
- Ensure efficient customer service, particularly in loading purchases.
- Provide information on additional services like delivery, glass cutting, credit programs, etc.
Housekeeping:
- Keep designated areas free of obstacles and ensure stock is merchandised immediately upon receipt.
- Maintain accurate shelf price labeling.
- Complete checklists as required for canteen and toilet/shower schedules.
Safety (OHSA) Compliance:
- Adhere to safety regulations and ensure the safety of customers and colleagues.
- Ensure stock is merchandised safely and report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Ready for Business:
- Follow the “Ready for Business and Beyond my Control” standards as per the Cashbuild Way.
Loss Prevention and Security:
- Identify and report any display gaps or suspicious behaviors to management.
- Ensure no product is loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or necessary documentation.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or a minimum of one year of work-related experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Capability to work under pressure.
