POST 02/261: DRIVER (LIGHT DUTY VEHICLE)

SALARY:

R131,265 per annum

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirement:

• Basic literacy and numeracy.

Experience:

• Appropriate experience in the transportation of employees and goods.

Inherent Requirements:

• Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
• Willingness to:
  • Be on standby.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically fit and able to lift and load heavy items.

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

• Knowledge of transport regulations.
• Ability to accept accountability and responsibility.
• Capability to work independently.

DUTIES

1. Transportation Duties:
   • Transport official passengers, post, packages, chronic medication, goods, equipment, and heavy laundry bags.
   • Deliver and collect blood products.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
   • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of government vehicles.
   • Perform routine inspections of vehicles and report any defects.
3. Administrative Support:
   • Complete logbooks and perform routine administrative tasks when required.
4. Emergency Response:
   • Respond to emergencies as necessary.
5. Relief Duties:
   • Provide relief support to staff within the component when required.
