Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

As a Works Inspector, you will provide technical support to the maintenance and infrastructure delivery systems. Key responsibilities include:

Design of Maintenance System

  • Make inputs to the design of the maintenance management system.
  • Assist with information for the design and updating of the electronic maintenance management system.
  • Interact with information technology services on system specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance policies and procedures.

Training on Maintenance System

  • Assist in developing training manuals for the maintenance management system.
  • Provide training to district offices on the system.
  • Support the rollout and updating of the maintenance management system.

Call Centre Support

  • Assist with the establishment and functioning of the call centre.
  • Provide training to call centre personnel.
  • Develop standard operating procedure manuals.
  • Extract information on logged and resolved calls.
  • Provide technical inputs and investigate unresolved cases.

NEIMS Assessments, Specifications, and Projects

  • Assist with data and information for updating NEIMS and Facility Management Systems.
  • Prepare specifications and develop bills of quantities.
  • Develop proposals on associated costs and make recommendations on quotations.
  • Inspect maintenance work on project sites.
  • Verify invoices and make recommendations for payments.

You will work collaboratively with technical, engineering, and district teams to ensure infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements for the Works Inspector Position

Minimum Requirements:

  • An applicable 3-year degree/diploma or equivalent qualification in Building, Mechanical, Electrical, or N3 with a passed trade test, or National Diploma in Engineering.
  • 2–3 years relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
