About the Role in Special Schools and Inclusive Education

The Directorate: Special Schools and Inclusive Education is responsible for providing quality education to learners with special needs, including those who are deaf, blind, or have other disabilities. Teacher Aids are essential members of the support team in these schools. They assist teachers with classroom activities, help learners with daily tasks, and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Job Purpose

To provide direct support to teachers and learners in special schools by assisting with assessments, classroom activities, material preparation, supervision, and daily care needs. Key Performance Areas

As a Teacher Aid, your core duties will include:

  • Help learners with assessments and classroom activities.

  • Help with classroom organisation and control.
