Job Purpose

The Storeperson – Healthwise will be responsible for the efficient receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of hospital supplies. You will ensure accurate stock control, maintain high standards of organisation and hygiene, and support the seamless operation of the hospital’s supply chain. This role is essential for preventing stock shortages, minimising waste, and ensuring that clinical departments receive the right materials at the right time, ultimately contributing to safe and effective patient care.

Detailed Key Responsibilities

As a Storeperson, your core duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods and materials against delivery notes and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Store items safely and systematically in designated locations, following health and safety standards and infection control protocols.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and assist with stock control and inventory management using manual and digital systems.
• Issue stock to internal departments (wards, theatres, clinics, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner according to requisitions.

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess stock, or damaged items to the supervisor for action.
• Ensure proper rotation of stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to minimise waste and expiry of perishable or time-sensitive items.
• Keep the storeroom clean, organised, and safe at all times, adhering to hospital hygiene and infection prevention standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks (and forklifts if licensed) safely and responsibly.
• Assist with the preparation of reports on stock movements, consumption, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with procurement, clinical, and support teams to resolve any supply-related issues promptly.
• Comply with all hospital policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and Tsebo’s standard operating procedures.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and safety.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
