Job Objectives & Key Responsibilities

As a Shop Assistant Cashier, you will play a vital role in delivering service excellence. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Efficiently executing all operational activities at the point of sale (POS) in a timely manner.
• Scanning merchandise accurately and processing payments (cash, card, and digital).
• Actioning ClubCard rewards and enrolling new members to achieve participation targets.
• Promoting current promotions and special offers to customers.
• Providing friendly, professional, and helpful customer service at all times.
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy when handling cash and transactions.
• Ensuring the safe handling and reconciliation of cash according to company policy.
• Executing and maintaining merchandising and housekeeping standards.
• Supporting stock replenishment and visual display standards.
• Assisting with general store operations and team tasks as needed.
• Delivering superior service by acting as a brand ambassador for Clicks.
• Living and promoting the company values in every interaction.
• Keeping up-to-date with products, ranges, promotions, and events.

You will be expected to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Maths and English at 50% or higher at Grade 12 level (desirable).

Experience:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment is advantageous but not compulsory.
• Strong customer service orientation.
