Key Responsibilities

As a Route Controller, you will manage daily logistics operations to achieve optimal efficiency. Your main duties will include:

• Managing logistics systems and daily route planning.
• Conducting daily driver debriefs per route.
• Monitoring and supervising distribution KPIs, with daily investigations into underperformance.
• Performing route rides at least once per quarter and analysing findings for improvements.
• Coordinating and ensuring 100% attendance for Salesman-Driver and Van Assistant training.
• Investigating poor KPI performance and compiling action plans.
• Handling customer complaints and queries professionally and timeously.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring sound administrative practices and accurate record-keeping.
• Optimising routes for fuel efficiency, delivery accuracy, and cost control.
• Supporting the Distribution Manager with operational planning and reporting.
• Promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with drivers, sales teams, warehouse staff, and management to deliver consistent, high-quality distribution service.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a recognised Supply Chain or Logistics qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years logistics experience, preferably in the FMCG environment.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent computer literacy (especially Excel and Word).
• Highly organised and systems-oriented.
