Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

As a Room Attendant, your work will focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort. Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning guest rooms and chalets thoroughly, including changing bed linen, sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors, and polishing furniture.
• Emptying trash containers and ensuring proper waste disposal.
• Cleaning public areas, including lobbies, corridors, and common spaces.
• Reporting any abnormalities, damages, or maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Controlling inventory items (toiletries, linen, amenities) and ensuring chalets are properly stocked.
• Assisting in the laundry when necessary (washing, ironing, and storing linen).
• Delivering high-quality service with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Managing customer expectations and addressing needs in a timely, professional manner.
• Evaluating and responding to customer feedback to enhance service.
• Helping with general housekeeping duties across the hotel and chalets.
• Complying with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Working shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required to support hotel operations.
• Assisting in other departments when requested by management.
• Maintaining a neat, punctual, and responsible attitude at all times.

Requirements for the Room Attendant Position

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or NVC Level 4 qualification.
• 1–2 years’ work experience in public cleaning or a tourism/hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of First Aid and hygiene practices.
• Understanding of English.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Punctual, neat, and responsible.
• Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, shifts, and assist other departments.

Advantageous:

• Certificate in Public Cleaning.
• Previous cleaning experience in a hotel or similar establishment.
