Job Purpose

The Picker Packer: Parts plays a critical role in the warehouse operations by ensuring that automotive parts are accurately picked, inspected, packed, and made available for distribution to dealerships and customers. You will work according to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and stock integrity, ultimately contributing to excellent service delivery in the automotive aftermarket.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Operations

  • Pick and bin parts daily according to agreed standard operating procedures and pick lists.
  • Inspect incoming parts to ensure packaging is intact and items are not damaged.
  • Receive, unpack, and verify stock shipments in the receiving area.
  • Pack parts correctly and place them in the allocated bin locations for quick and accurate retrieval.
  • Check stock levels regularly and report low stock or discrepancies to the supervisor for immediate action.
  • Plan and organise daily tasks to meet performance targets and maintain high productivity.
  • Resolve routine warehouse problems and escalate more complex issues timeously.
  • Provide daily feedback on task completion to support informed decision-making.

Finance & Efficiency

  • Execute all work activities efficiently to minimise delays and maximise productivity.
  • Help reduce unnecessary costs by preventing damage, errors, and waste during picking and packing.

Customer Focus

  • Ensure parts are picked and packed accurately so that customers (internal and external) receive the correct items on time.
  • Contribute to a service culture that consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations.

  • Deliver daily tasks to the required quality standard and actively participate in training to improve personal performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential.

  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and handle moderate lifting.
  • Basic computer literacy.
