Job Purpose

The Multi Skilled Employee will support the smooth running of the cinema by performing various operational tasks as directed by supervisors. You will be trained to handle cashiering at Box Office and Catering Sales, assist with cinema operations, serve as a waiter, prepare popcorn and other snacks (Poppers), and contribute to general cinema functions. Key Responsibilities

As a Multi Skilled Employee, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service & Sales:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, and promotional activities offered by Ster-Kinekor to effectively upsell and enhance the guest experience.
• Process Box Office and Catering Sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide friendly, professional service to all guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback in a calm and solution-oriented manner.
• Promote the Ster-Kinekor brand through exceptional service delivery at every interaction.

Operational & Housekeeping Duties:

• Ensure presentation standards are always maintained (age restriction signage, synopsis files, posters, F&B displays, and disclaimers).
• Prepare popcorn, slush, and other snacks according to strict quality standards and report any deviations immediately.
• Assist in shift preparation and general setup of the cinema areas as required.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, counter areas, equipment, and surrounding spaces.
• Keep storerooms organised and ensure fumigation takes place when required.
• Ensure all prepared products are properly sealed, packaged, and stored.
• Perform regular cleaning of operational areas, including floors, counters, and seating zones.
• Empty waste bins and transport waste material to designated collection points.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to all Ster-Kinekor health and safety policies and procedures.
• Submit required Health and Safety reports according to schedules.
• Ensure correct uniform and personal presentation standards are maintained at all times.
• Promote a safe working environment for colleagues and guests.
• Report any hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.

Teamwork & Personal Development:

• Work collaboratively with the cinema team to achieve daily operational goals.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric – essential.
• 0 – 1 year of work experience in a similar customer service or retail role (advantageous).
• Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• VISTA or MYCC system experience is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be presentable at all times and maintain a professional appearance.
• South African citizen with a valid ID.
