Key Responsibilities

As an Internal Auditor Trainee, you will support the execution of the audit plan and gain exposure across the full audit cycle. Your responsibilities will include:

Fieldwork

  • Translating identified controls into suitable testing plans and audit programmes.
  • Executing agreed testing plans and obtaining sufficient, appropriate audit evidence.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of controls and concluding on their adequacy.
  • Escalating issues identified during testing through informal queries.
  • Applying existing knowledge to new situations to identify risks and appropriate testing approaches.
  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting information to support audit objectives.
  • Preparing high-quality working papers that document work performed and conclusions reached.

  • Preparing clear, concise, and professional audit reports.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent 3-year accounting qualification (non-negotiable).
  • CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) qualification or postgraduate studies will be a strong advantage.

Experience:

  • 1 to 2 years of internal audit experience (advantageous but not compulsory for strong graduates).
