About the Programme

The Limpopo Provincial Treasury, through its Shared Internal Audit Services (SIAS), is committed to developing the next generation of internal audit professionals. Participants will sign a 24-month contract and attend knowledge module sessions spread throughout the programme period. The training is designed to build practical auditing skills in line with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and Code of Ethics.

Available Streams and Reference Numbers

1. Auditing / Risk Management Stream – Ref No: LPT/IAT/1-11 (X11 Posts) Requirements: NQF Level 6 qualification in Auditing or Risk Management as recognised by SAQA.

2. Accounting / Financial Management Stream – Ref No: LPT/IAT/12-16 (X5 Posts) Requirements: NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting or Financial Management as recognised by SAQA.

3. Information Systems / AI Assisted Tools Stream – Ref No: LPT/IAT/17-20 (X4 Posts) Requirements: NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Systems or AI-assisted tools as recognised by SAQA.

Conditions for All Applicants

• Must be South African citizens and residents of Limpopo.
• Candidates should not have participated in this programme before.
• Candidates will sign a 24-month contract with the department.
• Candidates will attend knowledge module sessions facilitated by the Leadership Academy for Guardians of Governance throughout the 24-month period.
• All candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check.
• High academic performance is required.

Key Duties

Successful candidates will:

• Assist Senior Internal Auditors in preparing working papers for audit assignments.
• Ensure quality assurance of audit work in terms of IIA Standards.
• Assist Senior Internal Auditors in conducting audit assignments according to the approved audit plan and procedures.
• Uphold the Institute of Internal Auditors SA’s Code of Ethics at all times.
• Support the Shared Internal Audit Services team in delivering high-quality internal audit services.
