Job Purpose

As a Griller, you will play a critical role in the heart of the kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and grilling chicken and other menu items to the highest Pedros quality and safety standards. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction, food consistency, and the overall success of the store.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and grill chicken and other menu items according to Pedros approved recipes and standards.
• Monitor cooking temperatures, timing, and portion control to ensure every order meets brand specifications.
• Maintain excellent food quality, taste, and presentation at all times.
• Conduct daily equipment checks (grills, fryers, etc.) and report any faults immediately.
• Strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles).
• Practise proper stock rotation using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method and actively minimise waste.
• Clean grills, workstations, and utensils thoroughly after every use and at the end of each shift.
• Assist with stock counts, ingredient preparation, and general kitchen operations.
• Support the team during peak trading hours to ensure fast and efficient service.
• Comply with all health, safety, and company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (advantageous but not essential for entry-level applicants).
• Previous experience in a kitchen or grilling environment is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of basic food safety practices.
• Ability and willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
• Must be a South African citizen or have legal right to work in South Africa.
