Purpose of the Role

To ensure that quality products are received and prepared for customers according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and speed of service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Griller at Pedros Starwood Mall, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards according to SOP.
2. Maintain food safety standards according to SOP.
3. Prepare menu items according to SOP whilst maintaining speed of service.
4. Provide great customer service.

In practical terms, this means:

• Preparing, seasoning, and grilling chicken and other menu items to the required quality and presentation standards.
• Monitoring cooking temperatures, timing, and portion control.
• Ensuring all food is prepared consistently and meets brand standards.
• Keeping the grill area, workstations, and equipment clean and organised at all times.
• Following stock rotation principles (FIFO) and minimising waste.
• Assisting with ingredient preparation and stock counts when required.
• Supporting the kitchen team during peak periods to maintain speed of service.
• Reporting any equipment faults or hygiene concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Upholding health, safety, and company policies at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12).
• Restaurant and Fast-Food Service experience – minimum 1 year related experience required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during peak times.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the store roster.
• Physical fitness to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties.
