Job Purpose

To conduct general maintenance and cleaning work in developed and undeveloped open spaces, parks, traffic islands, and horticultural facilities to improve the overall quality of the environment for residents and visitors.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

As a General Worker, your daily duties will focus on hands-on maintenance and cleaning tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing general horticultural maintenance in public open spaces, parks, and facilities.
  • Cleaning parks, traffic islands, and recreational areas.
  • Maintaining open spaces in remote and undeveloped areas.
  • Cutting, removing, and controlling invasive alien plants and weeds.
  • Picking up and removing litter from public areas.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of natural resources and green areas.
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
  • Using basic hand tools and equipment responsibly.
