Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following core duties (among others):

• Receive, process, and dispatch crime information received via the 08600 10111 Crime Stop hotline, 0800 911 011 Extortion line, My SAPS mobile app, and social media platforms.
• Accurately capture and categorise all incoming reports in the relevant systems.
• Request regular feedback on pending cases dispatched for investigation and update case status.
• Manage all state resources and equipment in the operational environment responsibly.
• Compile accurate daily and monthly operational reports.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and service delivery.
• Liaise effectively with investigators, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Adhere to all SAPS policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols.
• Work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and calmness.
• Support the broader Detective Services and Crime Stop team in achieving operational targets.
• Ensure all information is handled with the highest level of integrity and sensitivity.
• Participate in shift rotations and extended hours as required by operational demands.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must display competency in the core functions of the post.
• Be proficient in at least English and one other official language.
• Be a South African citizen (documentary proof required).
• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4).
• Relevant courses in the field of the post will serve as an added advantage.
• General computer literacy skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook).
