Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following core duties (among others):

• Drive a bus to transport passengers on scheduled services over established routes.
• Control lighting, heating, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
• Observe prescribed speeds, traffic conditions, and signals to ensure safe arrival of passengers.
• Ensure passengers arrive at destinations on time and in comfort.
• Hold and maintain the appropriate driving licence and Public Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
• Inspect the bus for deviations from standards or malfunctions before and during trips.
• Record deviations/defects in the checklist and report to the supervisor.
• Register passengers on the trip and ensure proper boarding procedures.
• Check that the vehicle is refuelled and kept clean at all times.
• Record and report all events, incidents, and accidents to the supervisor.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company code of conduct.
• Complete log books properly and keep a log of activities.
• Maintain a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues.
• Do not deviate from assigned routes unless instructed by a superior.
• Make stops only in authorised places.
• Remove keys from the ignition after parking and secure the vehicle.
• Use seat belts for the driver and all occupants.
• Ensure conservation and good use of the vehicle.
• Report any damage to the vehicle resulting from use.
• Comply with collection times described on the job card.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in the same or similar position.
