Job Purpose

To assist the Operations Manager within the Cash in Transit division and ensure that all CIT operations are conducted according to planned procedures and schedules. You will take responsibility for vehicles, team members, and operational requirements to achieve safe and efficient cash transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, your core duties will include:

  • Take full responsibility and accountability for the vehicle, including reporting mechanical faults, refuelling, operating security systems, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Assist with daily operational requirements and planning of CIT schedules.
  • Ensure security and manage the movement of CIT schedules during transit.
  • Drive the CIT vehicle when needed.
  • Focus on accident prevention and proper reporting of any incidents.
  • Maintain constant contact with controllers and report any delays immediately to the Operations Manager.
  • Carry out security drills and maintain high levels of security awareness among the team.
  • Take preventative actions towards any reported suspicious activity.
  • Liaise with clients and all staff, particularly management, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete all required documentation and administration, including daily rosters and reports for management.
  • Manage risk and ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Supervise and lead team members during operations to maintain discipline and efficiency.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance team performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability within the team.

The role requires the ability to work irregular hours, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays, and the capacity to handle pressure in a high-security environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Clear criminal record.
  • PSIRA accredited with a minimum Grade C qualification – essential.
  • Cash In Transit (CIT) certificate – essential.
  • Firearm competency with a minimum handgun (for business purposes) qualification – essential.
  • Computer literate (MS Office) – essential.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the security industry or similar role (CIT management/supervisory experience is advantageous).
  • Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
  • Own transport is advantageous.
  • Able to work under pressure and prepared to work irregular hours.
  • Clear disciplinary record.
