Job Purpose

To provide high-class customer service and to increase the company’s growth and revenue through sales maximization. As a Sales Assistant, you will deliver exceptional service, drive sales through upselling and cross-selling, maintain excellent visual standards, and ensure smooth daily operations in the store.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales:

• Greet customers as they enter the store, assist them in finding products, and provide product information and recommendations.
• Actively and consistently implement upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase Units Per Transaction (UPT), Average Transaction Value (ATV), conversion rates, and overall turnover.
• Understand and promote all payment methods including PAYFLEX, PJN, and Happy Pay.
• Represent the brand by adhering to uniform policy and grooming standards, remaining presentable and professional on the sales floor at all times.

Visual Merchandising:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of products and placement, including materials, care instructions, and pricing to effectively assist customers.
• Steam, tag, price, hang, fold, replenish product, and optimise space on the sales floor.
• Understand and follow VM guidelines and practices to maintain a positive shopping experience for all customers.

Stock Control:

• Maintain stockroom organisation and cleanliness, ensuring products are placed in the correct categories and easily accessible to expedite the sales process.
• Actively inform managers on stock levels, sell-outs, best sellers, and any other stock requirements.

Daily Operations and Housekeeping:

• Consistently follow and adhere to time and attendance requirements and procedures, clock in and out, report late coming, and adhere to the roster.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system, including cash handling and variance schedules.
• Ensure store housekeeping is maintained daily, including dusting, cleaning mirrors, vacuuming, emptying bins, clearing the counter area, and tidying change rooms.
• Assist the manager with opening and closing the store.

Skills and Personal Attributes

• Grade 12 or equivalent – essential.
• Computer literacy – essential.
• Higher education (advantageous).
• 1–2 years’ work experience preferably in a retail environment.
• Knowledge of retail practices and customer service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to perform customer service duties with enthusiasm.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
