About the Department

The Free State Department of Public Works and Infrastructure manages provincial infrastructure, buildings, and properties. The Security Services Directorate plays a vital role in protecting government assets, staff, and facilities across the province.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you will:

• Perform access control at buildings and premises.
• Ensure the safety and security of people, equipment, documents, and stores.
• Prevent unauthorised entry or removal of items.
• Record all incidents in the occurrence book or relevant registers.
• Operate control room security equipment.
• Adhere to departmental security policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent – Grade 10/11 acceptable).
• Valid PSIRA Grade C registration (essential).
• Successful candidates will undergo security clearance.
• Good communication skills and ability to work shifts (including weekends and public holidays).
