Position Purpose
To plan, manage, and coordinate the total security function by rendering a cost-effective, crime-free, predictable service that positively impacts Transnet Engineering. The role involves identifying risks and threats against TE and implementing countermeasures to address these risks.
Position Outputs
- Implement security and asset protection strategies, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all audit requirements, quality, and risk management frameworks.
- Understand and translate the strategic direction of the Corridor.
- Oversee security initiatives and review financial reports for efficiency and quality.
- Implement business continuity and stability programs to reduce crime.
- Identify, analyze, forecast, and report potential risks and security-related threats.
- Drive the execution of all security projects within the Corridor.
- Collaborate with Government Institutions and law enforcement agencies.
- Plan and manage crime prevention operations.
- Prepare and manage the operational area budget and control expenditure.
- Enhance and manage asset utilization and resource utilization.
- Oversee and manage all security contracts and service level agreements.
- Establish information networks and surveillance systems.
- Resource appropriate security structures to respond to security challenges.
- Identify and process training needs promptly.
- Execute Security Risk Assessments and implement recommendations.
- Manage information capturing of security incidents and compile statistics.
Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma in Security, Policing, Investigations, or equivalent criminal justice or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Security Operations environment.
- Registration with PSIRA as grade A.
OR
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Security Operations environment.
- Registration with PSIRA as grade A.
