Position Purpose

To plan, manage, and coordinate the total security function by rendering a cost-effective, crime-free, predictable service that positively impacts Transnet Engineering. The role involves identifying risks and threats against TE and implementing countermeasures to address these risks.

Position Outputs

  1. Implement security and asset protection strategies, policies, standards, and procedures.
  2. Ensure compliance with all audit requirements, quality, and risk management frameworks.
  3. Understand and translate the strategic direction of the Corridor.
  4. Oversee security initiatives and review financial reports for efficiency and quality.
  5. Implement business continuity and stability programs to reduce crime.
  6. Identify, analyze, forecast, and report potential risks and security-related threats.
  7. Drive the execution of all security projects within the Corridor.
  8. Collaborate with Government Institutions and law enforcement agencies.
  9. Plan and manage crime prevention operations.
  10. Prepare and manage the operational area budget and control expenditure.
  11. Enhance and manage asset utilization and resource utilization.
  12. Oversee and manage all security contracts and service level agreements.
  13. Establish information networks and surveillance systems.
  14. Resource appropriate security structures to respond to security challenges.
  15. Identify and process training needs promptly.
  16. Execute Security Risk Assessments and implement recommendations.
  17. Manage information capturing of security incidents and compile statistics.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. National Diploma in Security, Policing, Investigations, or equivalent criminal justice or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Security Operations environment.
  3. Registration with PSIRA as grade A.

OR

  1. Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the Security Operations environment.
  2. Registration with PSIRA as grade A.
