Job Overview

Mowbray Maternity Hospital is hiring two Porters to assist with patient transport, document delivery, and general support within the hospital.

Minimum Requirements

✔ Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
✔ Experience: Prior experience as a Porter in a hospital or healthcare setting.
✔ Physical Fitness: Ability to lift/move patients onto beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs.
✔ Availability: Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
✔ License: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Transport patients via wheelchair, trolley, or bed between reception, wards, and treatment areas.
✅ Assist patients getting in and out of ambulances and vehicles.
✅ Deliver medical files, reports, and specimens to laboratories and other hospital departments.
✅ Assist with checking and replacing medical gas supplies in wards.
✅ Help move and transport medical equipment, ensuring proper handling.
✅ Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
✅ Respond to transport requests and deliver blood & blood products between the hospital and blood bank.

Skills & Competencies

✔ Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✔ Basic knowledge of hospital safety and hygiene standards.
