Grade 1: Grade 10 plus completion of the learnership to register with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
Registration: Must be registered with SACSSP as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
Driving License: A valid code B driving licence.

Competencies:

Understanding of human behavior, social issues, and relationship systems.
Knowledge of the South African Social Welfare context, developmental social welfare services, and relevant legislation.
Basic understanding of financial matters related to social auxiliary work.
Skills:
- Communication (verbal and written)
- Computer literacy
- Information and Knowledge Management
- Organizing and planning
- Report writing and problem-solving
- Client orientation and customer focus

Assist social workers in providing care, support, protection, and development of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities through departmental programs.
Address matters that may cause or arise from social instability.
Engage in continuous professional development.
Perform administrative support functions as needed by social workers.
