POST 37/125: Nursing Assistant (Maternity and General Ward) – Grade 1 to 3 (x2 Posts)

Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services
Salary:

• Grade 1: R165,177 per annum
• Grade 2: R192,675 per annum
• Grade 3: R277,070 per annum

Location: Karl Bremer Hospital

Requirements:

• Minimum educational qualification: A qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Registration: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
• Experience:
  • Grade 1: No experience required.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of appropriate/recognisable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
• Inherent requirements:
  • Willingness to rotate between wards when required.
  • Willingness to work shifts (day and night), weekends, public holidays, and overtime.

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties:

• Provide elementary clinical nursing care.
• Assist patients with daily activities including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination needs.
• Maintain professional growth, uphold ethical standards, and ensure proper record-keeping.
