Purpose of the Role

To accurately handle all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and related documentation — ensuring customer satisfaction and preventing any unpaid goods from passing through checkout.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or 1 year of work-related experience

• Able to communicate in English and the local dominant language

• Basic calculation skills

• Strong administration skills

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

• Able to work under pressure

⚙️ Key Performance Areas

Cash Handling

• Balance all allocated cash (floats, petty cash)

• Capture goods and payment types correctly on the POS system

• Maintain sufficient change

• Complete accurate pick-ups and cash-ups

• Drop all daily takings in the safe/vault

• Process other store transactions, deliveries, and quotes properly

️ Administration

• Sign, compile, and file all cashier-related documents

Ready for Business

• Follow “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” procedures per The CB Way

Customer Service

• Deliver fast, friendly service

• Direct customers to the right person for assistance

• Comply with company dress code

⚠️ Safety & Security

• Ensure OHSA compliance for staff and customer safety

• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager

• Follow Cashbuild’s security protocols (password control, safe cash handling, etc.)
