Detailed Duties and Responsibilities As a Porter, you will provide essential logistical and support services. Key responsibilities include: Delivering specimens to laboratories and ensuring safe, hygienic transport. Checking and replacing gas cylinders in wards, oxygen banks, and treatment areas. Assisting with shifting of medical equipment to and from rooms. Accompanying walking patients and transporting sitting or non-walking patients using trolleys or wheelchairs between wards and treatment areas. Taking responsibility for the transportation of corpses from wards to the mortuary and performing relevant duties in the mortuary, including maintaining registers. Safely transporting patients on trolleys and wheelchairs to and from different departments/wards. Assisting with loading and offloading patients in and out of ambulances and vehicles. Responsible for the cleanliness of trolleys, wheelchairs, and working areas. Reporting any defects to trolleys or wheelchairs to the supervisor. Responding promptly to requests from wards and clinics. Maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment at all times. Working shifts, including nightshift, weekends, and public holidays as required. Covering shifts in the absence of colleagues when needed. Performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.
