Key Responsibilities

As a Motorbike Courier, your primary duty is the safe and efficient transportation of medical specimens, reports, and related items. Daily responsibilities include:

• Collecting and delivering medical specimens, laboratory reports, and parcels to and from hospitals, doctors’ rooms, clinics, and patients.
• Ensuring all items are handled with care, especially temperature-sensitive or time-critical specimens.
• Planning and following the most efficient routes while maintaining excellent time management.
• Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with clients, healthcare professionals, and the public.
• Completing all required delivery documentation accurately and on time.
• Performing daily vehicle (motorbike) inspections and reporting any defects immediately.
• Adhering strictly to road safety rules, traffic regulations, and Ampath’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Keeping the motorbike clean, well-maintained, and in roadworthy condition at all times.
• Working collaboratively with the dispatch team and other couriers to meet daily targets.

You will operate primarily on a motorbike but may occasionally support vehicle deliveries as required by the business.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Valid South African Driver’s Licence – Code A (motorbike licence).
• Minimum of 4 years general driving experience (motorbike riding experience is highly advantageous).
• Must be physically fit and able to handle daily riding in various weather conditions.
