Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

As a Messenger, you will provide essential support to the Office Support Services team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing messenger functions, including sorting and arranging correspondences in the registry.
  • Collecting, distributing, and circulating correspondences such as mail, parcels, documents, and files.
  • Recording and controlling correspondence registers to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Sorting mail, files, documents, and parcels for distribution.
  • Ensuring that items to be collected are properly sealed and addressed.
  • Collecting mail, files, documents, and parcels from the addressor.
  • Delivering mail, files, documents, and parcels to the correct addressees.
  • Ensuring that recipients sign on the delivery book/register for all items.
  • Recording contents and physical addresses accurately in the delivery book/register.
  • Performing general office assistant tasks, including making copies, faxing, and shredding documents.
  • Travelling throughout the Western Cape Province as required to deliver or collect items.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Reporting any issues or delays in delivery promptly to the supervisor.
  • Assisting with general administrative and registry duties as needed.
  • Contributing to a well-organised and efficient office support environment.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • NQF level 3 (Grade 10 Certificate or equivalent).
