Job Purpose

To load and offload bread according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO), maintain accurate tray counts, and support the smooth operation of the despatch process at Premier Fort Jackson Bakery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Loader, your core duties will include:

  • Offload and load bread according to offloads/loading SOPs.
  • Follow pipeline loading/offloading sequence to ensure efficiency.
  • Perform tray count and balancing of trays in trucks.
  • Attend daily invocoms and team briefings.
  • Ensure that only quality bread is loaded or offloaded.
  • Maintain correct stock rotation (FIFO) at all times.
  • Report back on loading/offloading related matters to offloads supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures at all times.
  • Assist with general despatch duties and housekeeping in the loading area.
  • Work safely and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Support the team during peak periods and maintain a positive attitude.

The role is physically demanding and requires standing for long periods, lifting trays, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • 6-day position.
  • Required to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays.
  • Required to work on a rotating shift basis.

Qualification Requirements

  • Grade 12 with numerical skills.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 3 months’ experience in a similar position in the FMCG industry.

  • Good numerical skills for tray counting and balancing.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for manual loading/offloading work.
