Job Purpose

Key Performance Areas

As a Data Capturer, your core duties will include:

  • Capture and update data on computer systems accurately and timeously.

  • Update the system on all data sets and maintain the DHIS database.
  • Validate data (for quality purposes) to ensure correctness, completeness, and consistency.
  • Receive, register, and track records or documents submitted for further processing in the administration component of the institution.
  • Capture routine transactions on computer such as the transfer of information from manual records to electronic documents.
  • Provide routine and administrative maintenance services: Update and file records.
  • Continuous updating of information on computer for reporting purposes.
  • Retrieve information required by management and stakeholders.
  • Perform any other reasonable administrative duties as delegated by the supervisor.

The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work with large volumes of data under pressure.

Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate with no experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of administration processes.
  • Communication skills, numeracy, computer literacy, and ability to draw data.
  • Self-propelled and responsive person with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.

Computer literacy (especially MS Excel and data capturing systems) is essential for success in this role.
