Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

As an EPWP General Worker in Food Services, your duties will focus on supporting kitchen and food service operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Complying with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles for food safety.
  • Pre-preparing and cooking food for normal and therapeutic diets according to standardised recipes.
  • Portioning, plating, and packing meals for delivery to wards as per diet lists.
  • Pushing meal delivery carts to wards and collecting them after serving.
  • Preparing soft or liquid diets using blenders where required.
  • Washing dishes, cleaning work areas, tables, cabinets, and equipment.
  • Emptying waste bins and managing garbage disposal.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the Food Service Unit (FSU) and food trolleys according to schedules.
