Job Overview

The Western Cape Department of Health is seeking dedicated Cleaners to join the team at Kraaifontein CHC. Minimum Requirements

✔ Education: Basic literacy and numeracy (ABET – ability to read and write).
✔ Experience: Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
✔ Physical Ability: Must be able to operate cleaning equipment, lift heavy objects, and work shifts (including weekends, public holidays, day/night shifts, and rotating departments).

Key Responsibilities

✅ Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors.
✅ Clean windows, walls, and healthcare facilities to maintain a sanitary environment.
✅ Maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., polishers, scrubbers, mops, brooms, and buckets) and ensure proper storage after use.
✅ Manage clean and soiled linen, ensuring an efficient supply chain.
✅ Follow strict hygiene protocols to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
✅ Support hospital operations with additional cleaning duties as needed.
