Job Purpose

The Cleaner: Facilities will provide effective cleaning services to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and hygiene in the departmental offices and facilities. You will be responsible for the daily upkeep of workspaces, common areas, and equipment, ensuring a safe and professional environment that supports efficient government operations and positive public interactions. Detailed Key Responsibilities

As a Cleaner: Facilities, your core duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provision of Cleaning Services: Perform thorough daily cleaning of offices, boardrooms, corridors, reception areas, ablution facilities, kitchens, and other allocated spaces to ensure a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
  • Maintenance of Cleaning Materials and Equipment: Keep all cleaning materials, tools, and equipment in good working condition. Store them safely and report any shortages or defects to the supervisor.
  • Requesting Cleaning Materials: Proactively identify and request necessary cleaning supplies, detergents, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Waste Management: Empty dustbins regularly, sort waste where required, and ensure proper disposal in line with environmental and health regulations.
  • Surface and Furniture Care: Dust and polish furniture, clean windows, walls, doors, and other surfaces to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Floor and Carpet Maintenance: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets to keep all areas clean and safe for staff and visitors.
  • Hygiene Focus: Pay special attention to high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and ablution facilities to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a healthy working environment.
  • Safety Awareness: Identify and report any hazards (slippery floors, broken equipment, etc.) to prevent accidents and promote a safe workplace.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other cleaning staff and departmental employees to achieve cleaning targets and respond to urgent requests.
  • Adherence to Standards: Follow all departmental policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and cleaning best practices at all times.
  • General Support: Assist with ad-hoc tasks such as setting up meeting rooms, preparing for events, or supporting office relocations when required.

Minimum Requirements
