Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following core duties (among others):

• Clean designated areas of the pharmacy by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors and surfaces as required.
• Clear all obstacles from common areas to ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
• Perform and document routine inspections of allocated areas to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Conduct deep cleaning on all specified areas according to schedule.
• Maintain the overall hygiene standard of the pharmacy at all times.
• Ensure high levels of cleanliness in customer-facing and back-of-house areas.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination.
• Work efficiently and thoroughly without cutting corners.
• Collaborate with the team to meet daily cleaning targets and store presentation standards.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly.
• Support the pharmacy team during peak times and special projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (Essential).
• Previous cleaning experience (Essential).
• Experience in a fast-paced customer-facing environment (Desirable).
• Reliable transport to and from work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards.
• Good understanding of cleaning chemicals and appropriate surfaces.
• Excellent time management, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to work shifts between 7am and 11pm daily, including weekends and Public Holidays as per roster.
