Position Purpose

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized building environment by performing routine tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash. The position also includes assisting service personnel when needed.

Essential Functions and Duties

1. Cleaning Responsibilities
   • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
   • Dust and wash walls, doors, light fixtures, and windows.
   • Disinfect toilets, urinals, showers, and other fixtures.
   • Refill soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers.
   • Empty trash containers and ensure receptacles are clean.
   • Pick up litter both inside and outside as necessary.
2. Communication and Coordination
   • Assist company personnel and service providers when required.
   • Report area activities, issues, and cleaning needs to management.
3. Client Relations
   • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with clients and the public.
4. Additional Duties
   • Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned.
   • Ensure facility security.

Performance Measurements

• Facilities and equipment are kept clean, neat, and well-maintained.
• Cleaning is performed according to safety standards and scheduled routines.
• Cleaning needs and issues are promptly reported.
• Positive coordination with other company operations.

Requirements

• Education: No formal education required; matric preferred.
• Knowledge: Basic cleaning techniques, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience: Prior cleaning/janitorial experience is advantageous.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, work independently, and work weekends and evenings as needed.
