Purpose of the Role:

The Stores Person is responsible for receiving, issuing, and maintaining stock and non-stock items, performing stock takes, and ensuring proper housekeeping in the store area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Management: Issue stock as per requisitions and transfer consumables to the tuck shop and canteen.
• Receiving Stock: Ensure stock matches delivery notes/invoices, sign for receipts, and check the quality of items.
• Stock Counts: Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual stock counts.
• Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store, stack and store items safely.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental guidelines and report unsafe practices.

Candidate Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential; having Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is advantageous.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar stores-related role.
• Skills:
  • Stock rotation and basic counting skills.
  • Proficiency in receiving and managing stock.
  • Basic computer literacy is desirable.
