Job Overview

As a Store Cleaner, you will ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment in the administrative building and valve stores at Rand Water’s Central Depot. This permanent role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic and experience in cleaning within a similar setting. You will play a vital role in supporting operational efficiency by maintaining high hygiene standards and managing cleaning supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Office and Store Cleaning: Clean and dust administrative offices and valve stores to maintain a professional and hygienic environment.

• Sanitation: Clean and sanitize bathrooms in the main store and valve store areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

• Stock Management: Order and maintain cleaning supplies, such as coffee, tea, and other essentials, while keeping accurate inventory records.

• Safety Compliance: Apply basic knowledge of safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free workplace in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

• General Duties: Perform ad hoc cleaning tasks as required to support the operational needs of the Central Depot.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 certificate or N3 qualification.

• Experience: 2 years of cleaning experience in a similar environment (e.g., offices, warehouses, or stores).

• Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office for inventory tracking).

  • Basic knowledge of safety practices in a workplace setting.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Effective cleaning skills to maintain high hygiene standards.
