The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites suitably qualified and dedicated individuals to apply for the position of Administrative Officer (Warrant Officer) within the Division: Supply Chain Management – Facility Management: Programme and Project Management, based at Head Office, Pretoria.

Minimum General Requirements

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4

  • Must be proficient in at least two official languages, one of which must be English

  • Must be a South African citizen with documentary proof

  • Must have a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license

  • Must have no criminal record, pending criminal, civil, or departmental cases

  • Must not have visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform

  • Must be willing to undergo:

    • Security vetting

    • Fingerprint verification

    • Background checks


Additional Requirements

Applicants must also have:

  • A three (3) year National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or higher) in:

    • Project Management or

    • Business Administration or

    • An equivalent qualification relevant to the post

  • Registration as a Candidate Project Manager or higher with SACPCMP will be an added advantage

  • Relevant experience in project administration or management will be beneficial

Key Responsibilities

The Administrative Officer will be responsible for the following core functions:

  • Updating the Project Management Dashboard and National Treasury IRM system

  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of project information

  • Providing project management and administrative support

  • Managing and filing all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinating and arranging client and stakeholder meetings

  • Taking accurate minutes during meetings

  • Maintaining proper document control and transmission

  • Ensuring completion and filing of gateway review templates

  • Conducting quality control on all project documentation

  • Arranging site visits and logistics for project teams

  • Assisting project managers with:

    • Risk register compilation

    • Risk tracking and reporting

  • Updating presentations and reports for:

    • Internal stakeholders

    • External stakeholders

  • Assisting in the packaging of bid specifications and tender documentation

  • Coordinating bid-related meetings including:

    • Bid specification meetings

    • Bid evaluation sessions

    • Site meetings

  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and communication management
