About the Opportunity

Addo Elephant National Park is offering two (2) exciting opportunities for General Workers within the Tourism Department.
The successful candidates will assist in maintaining park facilities and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors.

Note: Candidates must provide their own transport and accommodation as staff housing is not available in the park.

Minimum Requirements

✅ Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
✅ 1–2 years’ experience as a General Worker
✅ 1 year experience in the Tourism industry
✅ Proficiency in at least two languages (including English)
✅ Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
✅ Good time management and communication skills
✅ Planning and organizing abilities
✅ Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays
✅ Knowledge of general garden tools and equipment

Chainsaw certificate/competency
Brush Cutter certificate/competency

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties: terrain cleaning, garbage removal, picnic area and ablution upkeep, office cleaning, etc.

• Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment.

• Assist with collection and delivery of supplies.

• Adhere to OHS safety practices and procedures.

• Regulate traffic flow and assist with visitor parking.

• Carry out ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor or line manager.

Remuneration & Employment Conditions

• Paterson Grade: A3

• Salary: Basic salary + allowances and benefits per SANParks HR Tariff Document

• Appointment will be made in line with SANParks’ Employment Equity Plan.
