Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these positions, applicants must have the following:

• Grade 10: An NQF Level 3 qualification is required.
• Plant operator certificate: Applicants must possess the appropriate certificate for the equipment they will operate.
• Driver’s licence: A valid Code EC driver’s licence is required.
• Occupational Health and Safety certificate: This will be an added advantage if it relates to the equipment being operated.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for operating machinery and supporting road maintenance activities.

• Operating specialised road maintenance equipment.
• Loading and offloading goods and equipment.
• Inspecting machinery and reporting defects.
• Performing basic equipment maintenance.
• Keeping log sheets for vehicles and machinery.
• Following safety precautions and workplace procedures.
• Cleaning and lubricating machinery and equipment.
• Grading gravel roads.
• Assisting with re-gravelling and road shoulder maintenance.
