The Receiving Clerk will manage the accurate receiving, verifying, and packing of stock according to Dis-Chem’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and store requirements. Minimum Requirements Essential: Grade 12 / Matric Computer literate Sound numerical skills Willingness to work retail hours Advantageous: Experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG Responsibilities Stock Verification and Management Verify, scan, and capture incoming goods. Ensure invoices match delivered goods in terms of quantity, variant, and condition. Maintain timely receipt of deliveries and ensure stock is shelved promptly. Returns and Claims Process and log returns and warehouse claims accurately. Manage the flow of returns to suppliers following SOPs. Physical Stock Control Maintain the storeroom in an organized manner. Implement physical controls in the receiving area. Collaboration Assist the Receiving Manager in handling high-risk stock and claims. Communicate effectively with suppliers, management, and colleagues. Competencies Essential: Understanding of receiving procedures and administration. Strong communication in English. Time management and basic analytical skills. Physical fitness for lifting heavy boxes (+20kg). Advantageous: Bilingual skills Familiarity with stock rotation systems Special Conditions Must be physically fit for heavy lifting (+20kg). Reliable transportation and proximity to the store. South African citizenship. Clean credit and criminal record.
