Post Title: Household Aid

Directorate: Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services
Salary: R131,265 per annum
Centre: Khayelitsha District Hospital

Minimum Requirement: Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Experience:
- Relevant experience in cleaning in a hospital or health environment
Competencies:
- Knowledge of Infection Control and Occupational Health and Safety procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and cleaning windows
Deep clean toilets, manage general and medical waste
Serve patient and parent meals and clean crockery and cutlery following HACCP principles
Handle and sort linen (soiled, dirty, and clean) and maintain the linen room
Ensure effective use and safekeeping of cleaning equipment and consumables
Attend in-service training and assist with general housekeeping duties as directed by the supervisor
Perform additional ad-hoc duties within the hospital
