The National Research Foundation (NRF) is seeking a Storeman Assistant for a permanent position located in Carnarvon, Northern Cape. This role supports the day-to-day operations of Stores and Logistics, ensuring data accuracy and maintaining the stores’ IT system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stock Management:
    • Receive and manage stock in storeroom or warehouse.
    • Maintain stock control processes and ensure accurate data capturing on the RAMLOG system.
    • Issue stock to staff and keep records updated.
  2. Logistics:
    • Occasionally deliver and collect products/materials.
    • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
    • Handle waste disposal and removal of unused materials.
  3. Reporting and Compliance:
    • Maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
    • Assist in budget preparation and administration.
    • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Grade 12.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
    • Certificate in Inventory/Stores (Advantageous).
    • Valid driver’s license (Code B).
    • Forklift license (Advantageous).
  • Experience:
    • At least one year of working experience in a Stores environment.
    • Experience with computerized Inventory Systems.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of stock control systems and binning.
    • Familiarity with the Public Sector Procurement framework.
    • Experience with the RAMLOG System.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
    • Safety awareness and ability to follow detailed instructions.
    • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
    • Reliability and problem-solving abilities.
