CORE PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide cleaning services to the university community, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment in academic and support areas.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Cleaning of university buildings, corridors, and public/outdoor spaces.
- General and deep cleaning of floors, surfaces, and ablution facilities.
- Cleaning of offices, classrooms, residences, staff rooms, libraries, labs, conference rooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas.
- Occupational health and safety compliance.
- Collection and accountability of cleaning consumables and equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 8 – 12
- 0 – 12 months experience in a cleaning position
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, methods, and equipment
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Physically fit
- Customer focus, flexibility, literacy skills, punctuality, and accountability
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Caring attitude and good customer service skills
- Initiative and teamwork
- Ability to work under pressure and during university vacation, after hours, and public holidays
