Requirements

• Education: Qualification at NQF Level 03 (as recognised by SAQA).
• License: Valid Code EC Driver’s License (exceptions made for applicants with disabilities).
• Experience: Five (5) years driving and operating specialized equipment.
• Operating Certificate: Grader Operator.

Generic Competencies:

• Communication, reading and writing skills, teamwork, and good eyesight.

Technical Competencies:

• Safe operation of equipment.
• Maintenance and physical inspection of vehicles.
• Interpretation of operating manuals and service charts.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operation and Maintenance:
   • Operate specialized equipment.
   • Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting defects.
   • Clean and lubricate machinery.
2. Transportation Services:
   • Transport work teams and materials/equipment.
   • Maintain vehicle logbooks and trip authorizations.
3. Roadwork Maintenance:
   • Grade gravel roads and conduct shoulder maintenance.
   • Perform minor mechanical repairs.
   • Load and offload goods/equipment safely.
