Role Description:

The Halaal Supervisor will oversee the adherence to Halaal certification standards across kitchen operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining consistency in menu items, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with Halaal food preparation practices. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all processes meet the expectations of Halaal consumers.

Education and Experience Required:

• Matric qualification is essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in progressive kitchen management.
• Experience with stock control, ordering, and receiving.
• Halaal certification or training from a recognized Islamic authority.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Halaal compliance, particularly in the food industry.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Knowledge of fine dining and restaurant dining environments.
• Familiarity with South African laws and industry-specific regulations.
• Ability to conduct inspections for Halaal compliance.
• Working with vendors to ensure the Halaal status of ingredients.
• Strong problem-solving skills related to compliance concerns.
