Job Description

Cashbuild is hiring a Cashier to ensure the accurate handling of all Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions, maintain customer satisfaction, and prevent unpaid goods from leaving the store.

Minimum Requirements

1. Education:
   • Grade 12 qualification OR a minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.
2. Languages:
   • Proficiency in English.
   • Ability to communicate in the dominant language of the local area.
3. Skills:
   • Strong numerical ability for accurate calculations.
   • Solid administrative skills.
4. Other Requirements:
   • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
   • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cash Handling:
   • Ensure all cash (including floats and petty cash) allocated balances accurately.
   • Correctly process goods and payments on the POS terminal.
   • Maintain sufficient change and accurate pickups.
   • Perform accurate cash-ups and secure daily takings in the Drop Safe/Vault.
   • Manage transactions for inter-store money, deliveries, and quotes.
2. Administration:
   • Compile, sign, and file cashier-related documentation appropriately.
3. Customer Service:
   • Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service.
   • Assist customers and direct them to appropriate team members.
4. Ready for Business:
   • Adhere to Cashbuild’s operational standards (CB Way).
5. Safety (OHSA):
   • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
   • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
6. Security Awareness:
   • Maintain password security at the till.
   • Safeguard cash during transit to the Cash Office.
