Job Description

As a Cashier at Cashbuild, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless and accurate Point of Sale (POS) transactions while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role will involve:

• Cash Handling: Accurately process all cash, float, and petty cash transactions, ensuring no discrepancies (shorts or overs). Capture correct payment types and ensure sufficient change is available.

• Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers during check-in and check-out processes. Direct customers to the appropriate staff for further assistance.

• Administration: Sign, compile, and file all cashier-related documentation accurately.

• Security Awareness: Adhere to system password controls and ensure safe cash handling as per Cashbuild’s protocols.

• Safety Compliance: Maintain Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) standards to ensure customer and staff safety, reporting any discrepancies to the Store Manager.

• Ready for Business: Follow Cashbuild’s “CB Way” principles, including “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” guidelines.

This role requires working under pressure, handling detailed transactions, and maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.

Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Grade 12 or a minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Fluent in English and the dominant language spoken in Delft, Western Cape (e.g., Afrikaans or isiXhosa).

• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.

• Strong administration skills for managing documentation.

• Comfortable working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
