Job Description:

The Cashier role is responsible for accurately handling all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and preventing stock from passing through without being paid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate handling of cash, POS transactions, and documentation.
• Capturing goods and payment details correctly at the POS terminal.
• Cash handling duties, including cash-ups and ensuring balance.
• Administrative duties, such as compiling and filing documents.
• Providing customer service by directing customers and offering friendly assistance.
• Adhering to safety (OHSA) requirements and ensuring customer and staff safety.
• Maintaining security measures, including password control at till points.
• Achieving set targets, resolving problems, and making decisions in line with company policies.

Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.
• Skills Required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
