Trainee Store Manager Position Cashbuild

Job Description:

• Main Purpose: Protect and grow profitable market share within a store in alignment with store, division, and company strategy.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with at least 2 years of retail management experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid ID or work permit
• Strong accounting skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Basic computer literacy
• Strong leadership and administrative skills
• Own transport and cell phone
• Knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with OHSA

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Strategic Management:
   • Assist in developing and managing a store business plan aligned with company strategy.
2. Market Share Growth:
   • Help achieve growth in market share, sales budgets, and growth objectives by category.
   • Promote customer loyalty programs and manage the distribution of advertising material.
3. Customer Service:
   • Implement and monitor customer service strategy.
   • Maintain customer audits above 95%.
   • Ensure reliable customer delivery service and manage customer surveys.
4. Asset Control: Stock:
   • Manage and control shrinkage, PIC process, stock movement, and security requirements.
5. Asset Control: Cash:
   • Manage debtors, RD cheques, petty cash, daily banking, and cash discrepancies.
6. Asset Control: Fixed Assets:
   • Maintain and protect store fixtures, signage, IT equipment, and safety protocols.
7. Human Resource Management:
   • Recruit, induct, and develop employees.
   • Ensure succession planning and manage manpower requirements.
8. Store Safety (OHSA) Standards:
   • Manage safety aspects in compliance with local legislation.
   • Ensure safety checklists are completed, safety reps are appointed, and incidents are reported.
9. Store Trading Standards:
   • Maintain housekeeping, merchandising standards, planograms, and yard/parking areas.
10. Profitability:
    • Achieve operating income budget and manage the store according to financial benchmarks.
11. CB Way:
    • Achieve audit benchmarks and implement controls and corrective actions as necessary.
